How to Use the Interval Trainer

1. Choose a difficulty level: Easy (P1, m3, M3, P5, P8), Medium (adds m2, M2, P4, m7), or Hard (all 13 intervals).
2. Select a mode: Ascending (low then high), Descending (high then low), Harmonic (both at once), or Random.
3. Click Play Interval to hear two notes. Then click the interval name you think it is.
4. Click Replay to hear the same interval again before answering.
5. Your score tracks correct answers and overall percentage.

Tips for Identifying Intervals

Associate each interval with a well-known song. For example: Minor 2nd = "Jaws" theme, Major 2nd = "Happy Birthday", Minor 3rd = "Greensleeves", Major 3rd = "When the Saints", Perfect 4th = "Here Comes the Bride", Perfect 5th = "Star Wars" theme, Octave = "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

Start with Easy mode and work your way up. Focus on learning the "color" of each interval — major intervals sound bright and happy, minor intervals sound dark and sad, perfect intervals sound open and stable.
